A day in beauty at the “Onde Creative” Art Festival in Lanusei (29-31 May) together with Valerio Pisano, an original and sensitive soul who accompanied us to his city (where my father Arnaldo lived for a few years as a child with his family) on a temporal journey between the Nuragic remains of the Bosco di Seleni and the contemporary works of art of the Ferrai Museum. Here we were able to admire an unpublished installation by the sculptor Pinuccio Sciola (the artist “of the sounding stones”) dedicated to nature, trees and the fire that too often burns Sardinia. On the walls, canvases and sculptures by artists such as Vincenzo Grosso, Stefania Lai, Gianni Manunta Pastorello and Collari Fabio, who acted as our guide together with Valerio Pisano. And again, the surprising works of the students of the Art High School of Lanusei, the suggestive “water room” created by the kids of the Janas Association and furnishing objects designed by Valerio Pisano, distinguished by the unmistakable Bic pens with which the artist - not by chance called “Mr. Bic” - animates his creations. A tribute to the memories of a child, when at school he distracted himself with Bic pens, immersing himself in a world of boundless creativity and imagination. A world with which Valerio Pisano rewrites reality.
The works of the Sardinian artist surprise for their originality and also for their size, as in the case of the imposing sculpture “Priest - Chief of the Tribe” - an excellent example of his “Archaic Pop Art” - which stands out in the Bosco di Seleni together with the sculpture “IT Menhir” by the Lanusei artist Gianleonardo Viglino.
Works that symbolize the communicative instinct of man from the prehistoric past to the most innovative future. Thanks to Valerio Pisano for the beautiful tour of Lanusei and for the visit to his incredible home, where the eyes get lost among furnishing and design objects signed by this brave, ironic and visionary artist.
