Lanusei revitalized by art: Valerio Pisano's "PerformanCena"

Lanusei rivitalizzata dall’arte: la “PerformanCena” di Valerio Pisano

The public's reaction was enthusiastic: laughter, photographs and comments crowned the success of the event, which surprised and entertained the spectators. In addition to the "performanCena", Valerio Pisano set up 17 shop windows along Via Roma, displaying creations from his international project "Profumo di Ringhiera"

Lanusei had an extraordinary experience thanks to the artist Valerio Pisano, who interrupted the monotony of the city with a "performanCena" inside a shop window of an old, now abandoned shop in Via Roma.

The scene was dominated by an obsessive decoration based on a "Bic cap" module, repeated on all the objects exhibited and personally constructed by the artist. This repetition neutralized the spatial contours, creating an intriguing visual effect. Curious passers-by stopped to watch Valerio and his long-time partner and collaborator as they enjoyed themed-decorated dishes.

The public’s reaction was enthusiastic: laughter, photographs and comments crowned the success of the event, which surprised and entertained the spectators. In addition to the “performanCena”, Valerio Pisano set up 17 shop windows along Via Roma, displaying creations from his international project “Profumo di Ringhiera”.

The event was part of the evening “Non solo mare” organized by the merchants’ association “Le Falere”. During the same evening, several stands hosted the works of the students of the Mario Delitala Art High School of Lanusei, under the guidance of professors Gianleonardo Viglino and Rossana Fancello. Visitors were able to admire drawings, sketches, paintings, sculptures and a 120×90 cm clay bas-relief reproducing “Van Gogh’s Room”, made extemporaneously by the students.

Professor Fancello also participated by displaying works on wool spinning and involving the public with practical demonstrations. Other artists, such as Alfio Sulis with his wooden sculptures inspired by Nuragic history and David Mereu with his prototypes made with 3D printers, further enriched the evening. Andrea Rubiu presented an original selection of his creations inspired by industrial archaeology and the sea.

The evening was a success, acting as a training ground for future initiatives and preparing the public and tourists for the next Art Festival.
