Sardinia Archeo Festival arrives in Villagrande Strisaili
At the Nuragic complex of S’Arcu ’e is Forros an evening of guided tour, art and archaeological cinema

An evening of full immersion in the landscape and history, celebrating the artistic and archaeological richness of the Island: this Friday the Sardinia Archeo Festival also arrives in Villagrande Strisaili, with the Nuragic complex of S’Arcu ’e is Forros as the setting for a program that includes a guided tour, art installation, social aperitif and even two screenings on archaeological themes.Organized by the Itzokor association, promoter of the festival, and in collaboration with the site management body Archeonova and with Archeovisiva ETS – which for several years has organized the Festival of Communication and Archaeological Cinema in Licodia Eubea, Sicily – the activities start at 6 p.m. with a thematic tour of the Nuragic complex, in a spatial dialogue that is also enriched by the site-specific installation by Valerio Pisano, titled "Tappinozio di Mezzaestate": starting from the unit of measurement that underpins his peculiar stylistic signature, namely nothing less than the cap of a Bic pen, the artist develops an encounter between words, matter, forms and visions that connects the past with the present and history with storytelling.From 8 p.m., a moment is dedicated to conviviality with an aperitif on the slopes of the Gennargentu, also offering a tasting of local products, before moving on to archaeological cinema at 9 p.m.: the screenings, carried out as part of the collaboration with Archeovisiva, feature two works that, with different languages, focus on memory, heritage, scientific research and cinematic storytelling. It starts with the short film "S'Ozzastru" (2023), directed by Carolina Melis with consultancy by Elisa Guidelli and produced by Nical Films: eight minutes to tell the story of a millenary wild olive tree, a silent witness to the passage of time and to nature's intrinsic ability to resist, also demonstrated by the tree itself surviving the devastating fires that struck the Island in 2021, sprouting again just a year later.It is followed by "Vitrum. Il vetro dei romani – Rome’s glass revolution" (2025), a documentary by Marcello Adamo and produced by Filmare Entertainment with GA&A Productions which, taking the audience to the seas off Corsica, tells of the re-emergence of a wreck from the Roman era with an extraordinary cargo of raw glass and refined artifacts: an international team of female archaeologists thus investigates the wreck, using advanced technologies to reconstruct the ancient maritime trade routes and revealing the important role of glass in the Empire of the Caesars. The evening continues beyond that, with the possibility for participants to camp under the stars: a suggestive conclusion to a date full of archaeology, art, landscape, cinema and sociability.
